Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance
18 minutes of cinematic journey where you are the main character.

Most attractions begin when you board a vehicle. Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance begins the moment you step into the caves of Batuu. You will enter a hidden Resistance base in the middle of a conflict between the Resistance and the First Order. Rey appears via hologram and BB-8 rolls across the command room, delivering a mission briefing. From there, you board a transport ship piloted by Poe Dameron. The objective is to safely leave Batuu and rendezvous with the Resistance fleet.
Located in Galaxy’s Edge, deep in Disney’s Hollywood Studios, this attraction is highly immersive. It is considered one of the most technically advanced rides Disney has ever built. In fact, you may consider it less of a ride and more like an 18-minute cinematic journey where you are the main character. Whether you’re a die-hard fan or don't know a Wookiee from a Womp Rat, you can help protect the galaxy from the growing threat of the First Order.
When the doors open, you step into a massive hangar lined with stormtroopers and a full-scale TIE fighter. One reason it feels so different from other rides is that it combines several ride systems into a single storyline. Guests move through walk-through environments, a motion simulator transport, trackless ride vehicles, and even a short drop sequence.
Each transport holds eight riders and moves through the Star Destroyer corridors designed using reference materials from the original Star Wars films. The architecture closely matches the movie sets. The ride features around 65 Audio-Animatronic figures, including a highly advanced Kylo Ren that interacts directly with the ride vehicles during the escape.
If you’re planning a visit to Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Rise of the Resistance is worth making time for. From the moment you’re captured by the First Order to your final heart-pounding escape in a pod, the level of immersion is so high that the line between "Star Destroyer" and "ride" completely disappears.
